Requests To Reproduce EWG Materials

The Environmental Working Group welcomes requests to reproduce EWG materials, including, but not limited to, articles, reports, blog entries, press releases, images and photos.

To request permission, please email a completed EWG Materials Request Form to

[email protected]. Should EWG grant your request, you agree to the terms and conditions below. EWG reviews requests on a case-by-case basis and reserves the right to deny permission for any reason, at its sole discretion.  

Requests for EWG’s Agricultural, Tap Water Database, and PFAS Data

EWG periodically receives requests to obtain or use its agricultural, Tap Water Database, and PFAS data. As with other permission requests, EWG reviews requests for this data strictly on a case-by-case basis and reserves the right to deny permission for any reason, at its sole discretion. Should EWG grant your request, you agree to the terms and conditions below.

The criteria EWG uses when reviewing requests for this data:

  •  Educational and/or program implementation (e.g., conservation compliance) purposes.
  •  Noncommercial.
  •  Consistent with EWG’s brand and mission.
  •  Scale or scope of request.
  •  Available staff time and resources.

If you are interested in obtaining or using portions of EWG’s agricultural data, please fill out the Agricultural Data Request Form and email it to [email protected].

If you are interested in obtaining or using portions of EWG’s Tap Water Database data, please fill out the Tap Water Database Data Request Form and email it to [email protected].

If you are interested in obtaining or using portions of EWG’s PFAS data, please fill out the PFAS Data Request Form and email it to [email protected].

Alternatively, you may fax any of the above EWG material or data requests to 202-232-2592, or return it by regular mail to the EWG Headquarters address, below.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR REPRODUCING EWG MATERIALS AND DATA

Agreement. Permission granted by EWG to reproduce EWG materials shall be subject to the terms and conditions set forth below. EWG reserves the right to modify this agreement at any time without advance notice. (Note that use of EWG’s web properties is also subject to the following user agreement.)

Permission. All content appearing on EWG’s web properties, including, but not limited to, articles, reports, blog entries, press releases, images and photos, is the property of EWG unless otherwise stated. Individuals may print a single copy of EWG materials for personal use, which may be shared with friends and family, without written permission. However, additional copies of EWG materials may not reproduced or made available for distribution without prior written permission.

Permission Requests. To obtain permission from EWG, complete a standard request form, available at www.ewg.org/reprintpermission, and email a signed copy to [email protected], fax it to 202-232-2592, or return it by regular mail to the EWG Headquarters address at the bottom of the form. EWG reviews submitted requests on a case-by-case basis. EWG reserves the right to deny permission for any reason, at its sole discretion. Permission to reproduce EWG materials will be issued in writing. You do not have permission to reproduce EWG materials until you receive written confirmation from EWG.

Credits. Approved reproductions of EWG materials must carry the following credit: Copyright © Environmental Working Group, www.ewg.org. Reproduced with permission.

Appearance of Endorsements. You may not reproduce, or create a link to, EWG materials in a way that might be misinterpreted as an EWG endorsement of any entity, product or service.

Noncommercial Use. EWG is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to using the power of information to protect public health and the environment. With that mission in mind, EWG limits the use of reproduced EWG materials to educational, noncommercial purposes only.

Abridged or Altered Works. EWG materials shall be reproduced in their entirety, as they appear on EWG’s properties. If EWG materials must be abridged or altered due to space restrictions, EWG must review the abridged version or altered version, which must be submitted with the initial permission request.

Direct Links. Advance permission is not required for posting, sharing or distributing direct links to content appearing on EWG’s web properties. 

Choice of Law. Any claim or dispute relating to, or arising out of, this agreement shall be governed by the laws of the District of Columbia, without regard to its conflicts-of-law principles. If any provision or portion of these terms and conditions is held in whole or in part to be unenforceable for any reason, the remainder of that provision and of the entire Permission Agreement will be severable and will remain in effect, to the fullest degree consistent with the intent of this document.
