Terms and Conditions for Reproducing EWG Materials
Agreement. Permission to reproduce materials by the Environmental Working Group shall be subject to the terms and conditions set forth below. EWG reserves the right to modify this agreement at any time without advance notice. (Note that use of EWG’s web properties is also subject to the following user agreement.)
Permission. All content appearing on EWG’s web properties, including, but not limited to, articles, reports, blog entries, press releases, images and photos, is the property of EWG unless otherwise stated. Individuals may print a single copy of EWG materials for personal use, which may be shared with friends and family, without written permission. However, additional copies of EWG materials may not reproduced or made available for distribution without prior written permission.
Permission Requests. To obtain permission from EWG, complete a standard request form, available at www.ewg.org/reprintpermission, and email a signed copy to firstname.lastname@example.org, fax it to 202-232-2592, or return it by regular mail to the EWG Headquarters address on the bottom of the form. EWG reviews submitted requests on a case-by-case basis. EWG reserves the right to deny permission for any reason, in its sole discretion. Approved permissions to reproduce EWG materials will be issued in writing. You do not have permission to reproduce EWG materials until you receive written confirmation from EWG.
Credits. Approved reproductions of EWG materials must carry the following credit: Copyright © Environmental Working Group, www.ewg.org. Reproduced with permission.
Appearance of Endorsements. You may not reproduce, or create a link to, EWG materials in a way that might be misinterpreted as an EWG endorsement of any entity, product or service.
Non-Commercial-Use. EWG is a § 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to using the power of information to protect public health and the environment. With that mission in mind, EWG limits the use of reproduced EWG materials to educational, non-commercial purposes only.
Abridged or Altered Works. EWG materials shall be reproduced in their entirety, as they appear on any of EWG's properties. If EWG materials must be abridged or altered due to space restrictions, EWG must review the abridged version or altered version, which must be submitted with the initial permission request.
Direct Links. Advance permission to post, share or distribute direct links to content appearing on EWG’s web properties is not required.
Fee-Shifting, Choice of Law. Any claim or dispute relating to, or arising out of, this agreement shall be governed by the laws of the District of Columbia, without regard to its conflicts of law principles. If any provision or portion of these terms and conditions is held in whole or in part to be unenforceable for any reason, the remainder of that provision and of the entire Permission Agreement will be severable and will remain in effect, to the fullest degree consistent with the intent of this document.
Addendum: Requests for EWG’s Agricultural Data:
EWG periodically receives requests to obtain or use its agricultural data. As with other permission requests, EWG reviews requests for its agricultural data on strictly a case-by-case basis and reserves the right to deny permission for any reason, in its sole discretion. However, here are some of the criteria EWG uses when reviewing requests for this data:
- Educational and/or program implementation (e.g., conservation compliance) purposes
- Consistent with EWG’s brand and mission
- Scale or scope of request
- Available staff time and resources
If you are interested in obtaining or using portions of EWG’s agricultural data, please fill out the following form and email it to email@example.com, fax it to 202-232-2592, or return it by regular mail to the EWG Headquarters address below.
