WASHINGTON – Pressure from Congressional investigators mounted today on Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Scott Pruitt to answer questions over his use of taxpayer money to fly first class over perceived security threats, and his rental of a Capitol Hill condo linked to an energy lobbyist.
In a letter to Pruitt, Rep. Trey Gowdy, R-S.C., who chairs the House Oversight Committee, demanded Pruitt provide more details over both the travel, security and condo lease issues, writing that “The EPA has failed to produce all the documents requested.”
Clearly irked over Pruitt’s refusal to satisfy the committee’s requests, Gowdy demanded the administrator “Provide the requested documents and information as soon as possible, but no later than April 25, 2018.”
“Mr. Pruitt may want to bone up a bit on the checks and balances enshrined in the Constitution,” said EWG President Ken Cook. “The congressional crosshairs are coming into focus, and any further stonewalling will certainly trigger something more serious than an angry coach-class ticket holder.”

There are now 98 Democrat and Republican members of Congress from both chambers who have either called for Pruitt to resign or be fired.
