As the July 4th weekend approaches, EWG has added more than 30 new products to our 2015 Guide to Sunscreens! Twenty-one made our Best Beach & Sport Sunscreens and Best Moisturizers lists because they offer broad spectrum protection from UVA and UVB radiation and don’t contain harmful ingredients such as retinyl palmitate.
Check them out before you head to the great outdoors!
As well, we’ve created a new feature to help you on your next shopping trip – an interactive sunscreen label decoder. Use this tool to navigate through the different sunscreen terms on labels, sift through marketing claims and get tips on finding the most effective sunscreens.
But remember, sunscreens alone cannot protect you from sunburns and skin cancer. Practice sun safety measures. Wear long-sleeve shirts and pants, sunglasses and a wide-brimmed hat. Get to shade whenever possible, especially when the sun is at its most intense.
